Umer Abdullah holds a BSc. from the University of Toronto, majoring in Economics with minors in Mathematics and Statistics. He has also done a "Projects and Infrastructure Management" course from the London Business School. Prior to joining the Sapphire Group, he interned at RBC and Akhuwat Foundation. He joined Sapphire Textiles in 2018 and has been instrumental in expanding the Home Textiles business from mainly just institutional bedding to fashion bedding with retailers. He is leading the development of a Greenfield Soda Ash project in Khushab and exploring various other non-textile businesses - part of the group’s diversification strategy from textiles. He is also leading the expansion of Sapphire Retail internationally.
